Online Classes and Remote Mentor

BACK

Weekly Group Classes Are Now Accessible Online

We’re excited to announce our weekly classes will be accessible online, so students can join the live discussion from virtually anywhere with good internet connection and proper device. The online class times will be on the regular scheduled times (Toronto time) – see schedule here.

Students and instructors will collaborate in virtual meeting rooms, where remote students can participate in virtual whiteboard sessions as well. Instructors will also be able to teach and demonstrate coding lessons by sharing screens and leveraging various online coding tools where collaboration is key.

For the online robotics class, we can either teach using virtual components (all the Arduino components which students can interact with) or use your own circuit components (we can advice which robotics kits to purchase – total around $60 for the complete kits).

Online Mentor

In addition to our weekly group classes, we are also launching online mentoring service where students receive guidance and advice from our experienced mentors one-on-one. You may be a complete beginner or wanting to switch a career in tech/software industry. Our mentors provide wealth of knowledge and the right guidance that can fast track where you want to be.

You’ll also learn the pitfalls and mistakes so you’d recognize them ahead of time. Click here to learn more about online mentoring services.

I’m Interested – Now What?

Joining Zoom meeting is easy and straightforward – you don’t need a Zoom account to join a meeting. Here’s a quick test of your internet connection by joining a test meeting: https://zoom.us/test

Once you register and setup, our mentor will email you the invitation link.

For those who are interested in joining the class online, you’d need to install Zoom software on your device and the following system requirements:
  • Laptop/PC with common Operating Systems, i.e. Windows (7, 8 or 8.1, and 10) and MacOS (10.7 or later)
  • Recommended processor and RAM: dual core 2 Ghz (Intel i3/i5/i7 or AMD equivalent); 4 Gb RAM
  • High speed internet (at least 1.5 Mbps upload/download)
  • USB speakerphone and microphone

See here for further details on system requirements.

For younger students, we recommend an adult is present in the beginning to help join the online meeting and set up the required account for some classes we offer.
